Stayed at the Haddon Suite in Wye House last week with my wife and two children for seven nights. Great experience, super accommodation. My view is this: if you're holidaying as a family, why pay for two hotel rooms or try to cram everyone into one room (even a hotel 'family room') when for a price in-between you can have much more space and comfort. For the Haddon Suite that means two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, a big living room, and all the kitchen and washing facilities you need. Plus you get hotel levels of room servicing.

Of course you could book a top end 'country cottage' for a similar price, but this is luxury living in the middle of town, just a few minutes' walk from the bars and restaurants of Buxton, which is right in the centre of the beautiful Peak District.

For me there were no negatives at all, and manager Rob was extremely helpful. We don't usually go to the same town twice as there are so many places to visit, even in Britain, but I'll definitely think about it for next year, especially as there's so much we didn't get time to see"
